This seems not to appear in any world news, but is nonetheless pretty desperate-looking. A tanker has gone down off the Philippines in 3.000ft of water with 2m litres of bunker fuel on board. In the absence of outside help, locals are trying to fend it off with coconut husks and rice straw:

A Philippines judge who said he consulted imaginary mystic dwarves has failed to convince the Supreme Court to allow him to keep his job.
