AON plans to outsource claims?

by Jolyon on 29 March, 2006

In addition to moving to Docklands, perhaps, AON are also said to be contemplating the complete outsourcing of their claims operations. Or so a little bird told me yesterday.
Anyone have more info? Don’t all rush at once.

And what does this mean for the market more generally?  An end in sight to the old face-to-face dealings of the London Market?  As my old boss, mentor and friend,  Ken Louw, remarked to me back in 1985 when I was a novice reinsurance broker, “it’s utterly ridiculous to have all these men walking around, wearing out shoe leather, when they could do it all by telex or that new fax thingy”.  Ken was ahead of his time in many ways.
